Elaed : The Second Era

Journey to the world of Elaed, a land of magic and swordplay that is currently enjoying a period of relative peace after ages of war. The age of endless battles was brought to an end three hundred years ago when the six beings known as the Exemplars - the earthly gods of Elaed - appeared and established a firm rule over warring regions of the world.  Little is known about the Exemplars or where they came from, but since there arrival they have managed to prevent the chaos of all-out war from returning due to their unique actions.  In order to stop the death that the wars were causing, the Exemplars chose to halt all violent death in the world entirely.

Using their divine abilities the Exemplars began to manipulate the very powers of life and death and succeeded in saving all those who would have otherwise been slain due to attack or aggression.  When a mortal was deemed to be in danger of his or her life they would be immediately pulled out of time and placed peacefully  back into the world at a point of absolute safety - the mysterious Sanctuary Shrine that rests between Terasia Island and the Exemplar's own regions on the mainland.

Below you will find a list of the earthly gods of Elaed and the brief history that the people of the world know about them.  Read on, and learn about those who have achieved the impossible.

Exemplars of the Second Era

Reill:

Lady Reill is the ruler of the marshlands of Dalthsed, though she is rarely seen in her own capital city.  Reill spends most of her time watching over the Sanctuary Shrine and is the god who oversees the distribution of unclaimed land to those ambitious enough to want to rule their own region.

Zaphail:

The enigmatic lord of the desert region of Vaerak was known to be a strong ruler and incredibly wise.  He is rarely seen in recent days, however, and is rumored to spend most of his time locked away in his palace at the heart of his capital deep within the desert.

Narsec:

Lord Narsec is the younger of the two "twin gods".  He and his brother Malasec share the leadership of the southern portion of the lands surrounding Terasia Island and have always been known as the most mischevious of the earthly lords of Elaed.

Malasec:

The land of Ryaedal is ruled by the elder of the "twin gods", Malasec, and shares a border with Narsec's own region of Ceseute.  Malasec and Narsec are the only two Exemplars who are known to have contact with each other on a regular basis.

Kaelia:

Lady Kaelia is the leader of the grasslands region of Atheyr and regularly comes among the people of the world to assist them.  She has earned a reputation as one of the kinder earthly gods due to the rarity that many of the others are actually seen.

Naphtali:

Lord Naphtali, ruler of the land of Inraed, is also known to appear at various locations around the world on a regular basis.  His interest in the affairs of mortals is undeniable, though it is unknown what reasons drive such an interest.  Still, considering how rarely the other earthly gods appear among the people of the world, Naphtali remains one of the gods that the people of Elaed are most familiar with.
